CEC suspends 15 governmental officials from their posts

The Moldovan Central Election Commission has published the list of high-rank governmental officials, whose offices have been suspended for the election campaign period because they are standing for parliament.

The biggest number of such officials is with the Democratic Party - 6 ministers, Deputy Ministers etc. These are Deputy Premier, Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar, Minister of Construction and Regional Development Marcel Raducan, Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Labor Valentina Buliga, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Oleg Tulea, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Dumitru Godoroja, and Director of the National Bureau for Inter-Ethnic Relations Elena Belyakova.

Four candidates each have the Liberal Party (Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Anna Vasilachi, Deputy Minister of Economy Sergiu Ciobanu, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Nicolae Andronachi, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Stefan Chitoroaga) and the Moldova Noastra Alliance (Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Issues Victor Osipov, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Valeriu Cosarciuc, Minister of Education Leonid Bujor, and Minister of Informational Technologies and Telecommunications Alexandru Oleinic).

Deputy Minister of Justice Gheorghe Susarenco has also suspended his governmental office, for he has been included into the list of candidates of the Party "Pentru Neam şi Tara" ["For People and Country"].

The said list of 15 does not contain the names of Liberal Democratic Party candidates, though at least 3 ministers have been included into the LDPM ticket. The thing is, the CEC has not yet registered this ticket.
