CEC approves 12 parliamentary mandates


The Moldovan Central Election Commission has recognized as valid the mandates of 12 new members of the Moldovan Parliament.

Their holders will replace the vacancies that appeared due to the death of an MP (Vladimir Eremciuc from the Communist faction) and because 11 MPs retired from the Parliament in favor of holding governmental posts.

The CEC requested the Constitutional Court to recognize as valid the mandates of 6 Liberal Democrats: Elena Frumosu - Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism in the Criuleni Raion Council [regional legislature]; Iurie Apostolachi - Director of the state-run "Tighina" forestry enterprise of the Stefan Voda Raion; Simion Grisciuc - Director of the state-run forestry and hunting enterprise in the Straseni Raion; Moldovan Government Secretary General Victor Bodiu; Maria Nasu - a teacher from Alexei Mateevici Lyceum in Soldanesti town; Iurie Cherescu - Head of a Chair from University of European Political Sciences and Economics.

From the Democratic Party - former parliamentarians Stela Jantuan, Valentina Stratan and Oleg Sirbu, as well as with Mayor of Singerei town Gheorghe Brasovschi.

From the Communist Party - ex-parliamentarian Genadie Morcov, and from the Liberal Party - Chairman of the Moldovan Journalists' Union Valeriu Saharneanu.
