Bashkan Formuzal offers Dudoglo to become deputy governor

The just re-elected Bashkan [Governor] of Gagauzia Mikhail Formuzal has offered having a meeting to Mayor of Comrat town (Gagauzia's capital), leader of the New Gagauzia Movement Nikolai Dudoglo, who lost to Formuzal at the December 26 gubernatorial elections.

Formuzal said he welcomes the principles of the Gagauz people's unity, which Nikolai Dudoglo advertised actively during the recent election campaign, "and I am ready to do all I can to let the opinion of the voters, who gave preference to the loser candidate, find its reflection in the activities of the executive power branch in the autonomy".

Formuzal said he is ready to discuss the perspective of Nikolai Dudoglo's work in the autonomous region's Executive Committee [government], including as a Deputy Bashkan, for he believes this will let Dudoglo demonstrate in concrete deeds his ability to work in Gagauzia's interests and to feel what it means to bear responsibility before his voters for his pre-election promises.

Nikolai Dudoglo stated to your Infotag correspondent today, "Mikhail Formuzal is the greatest schemer in Gagauzia, and a person whom one should not trust".

"Look, last Friday Formuzal met with MCP parliamentarians Vadim Mishin and Irina Vlah, and promised the Communists the post of the First Deputy Bashkan and 5 departments in the region's Executive Committee [government]. Now he is offering me to become a Deputy Bashkan. Well, I guess he is plotting a new game against me", said Nikolai Dudoglo.

The meeting has been scheduled for February 1, "after which I will decide concerning accepting the offer or not".
