Almost 90% of Romanian citizens agree: Bessarabia to unite with Romania (survey)

The preliminary results of a survey conducted at national level by the Romanian Center for Studies and Strategies shows that 87,25% of respondents agree with the unification of Bessarabia (Basarabia in Romanian) with Romania, communicates Romanian Global News.

Asked if they agree with the unification of Bessarabia with Romania, 87,25% respondents answered with Yes, while 12,75% answered with No.

The survey was conducted on 7-23rd June 2012, with the participation of 1486 respondents from Romania. Its preliminary results will be made public in the framework of the conference “The reunion of those two German states, a model of Euro-Atlantic for Republic of Moldova, through the reunion of those two Romanian states”, which will take place in Chisinau on August 20th.

According to the source, the respondents had no difficulty in identifying the region they were questioned about: Bessarabia. From this point of view, Republic of Moldova has the status of historical province in the collective mentality of Romanians from the right bank of Prut.
