AIE Would Lose Votes if New Elections Were Held Next Sunday
By Valeriu Gonta / Moldova.org / -- According to an IMAS survey, the Alliance for European Integration (AIE) would gather only 52 seats in the Parliament if next Sunday new elections would be held. The Communists Party could win 46.9% of the votes, the Liberal-Democrat Party – 23.1%, the Democrat Party – 16.4% and the Liberal Party – 9.1%.
The Communists Party would have 49 seats in the Parliament and AIE, 52 seats. The Alliance for European Integration would lose seven seats compared to the elections held in November 2010, when the Communists won 42 seats and AIE, 59.
The survey was carried out during December 10-23, 2011, questioning 1109 citizens.
The political deadlock has disappointed the people. The deputies couldn’t elect a president since the elections of 2009. The lack of trust between the Communists Party and AIE has led to the current stalemate.
