A special commission finishes the elaboration of a set of improvements to the Constitution
A special commission, conducted by the vice-speaker Maria Postoico, finishes the work on a law project of improvement of the Constitution. The project aims at providing the citizens the right to address at the Constitutional Court (CC), DECA-press informs.
It is expected that, on Wednesday, the law project will be finished. After that, it will be signed by deputies and sent for approval to the Constitutional Court.
According to the legislation in effect, the law court will have to decide upon the law project in half a year. If it will approve the changes, deputies will have to wait for six months, and after that will start examinating and adopting it.
If in one year since the moment CC approves it the project is not adopted, the approval will become invalid and the procedure will start from the very beginning again.
Before that, the Parliament made an attempt to adopt a similar law project, which was approved by CC. But this one didn't get the necessary number of 68 votes of 101. The document was supported by the communists and some non-afiliated deputies, as the opposition voted against. // DECA-Press
