Born on January 9, 1951, in Ustia village, Dubasari rayon. University education.
Urîtu founds the first non-governmental association — the Committee for Human Rights from Transnistria in the Tiraspol-based section of the Popular Front, and he pursues monitoring offences against humanity made by the spies of the former KGB and the separatist regime created by the “ALPHA” group, masked as cossacks.
From 1993 he is the chairman of Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Moldova.
